A life well lived~
It's with heavy hearts that we announce that John has left us to rejoin the love of his life Jean.
He leaves behind his current wife Jane and his loving children Cheryl and Jason as well as siblings Colin and Betty and numerous family members in England and Canada.
He will be missed by his many friends but most especially by his best friend Eugene Henry and friend and son in law Vic Budd.
John was a man of keen intellect, he could think analytically and had common sense, a rare combination, he could always figure out how to fix anything that needed to be fixed. He was respected for these skills by his peers in the mining industry and all of those who knew him.
His other true love were the waters and anchorages off the east coast of Vancouver Island. John was an accomplished and avid sailor who shared his love of sailing with many people over the years.
John was a man of integrity and honour who always did the right thing, a true friend who was always available to help those who needed it.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Victoria Cancer Clinic, the exceptional volunteers who run the Wheels for Wellness program, the home and community care staff who supported John over the last 10 months of his life as well as the staff of the Comox Valley Hospital, in particular nursing staff Sara and Kate and his physician Dr. Daws.
Flowers greatly declined, for those who wish a donation to a charity of your choice in John's name would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held for John on Sunday February 2nd, 2020, 1pm, at the Eagle Ridge Estates Clubhouse, 2200 Manor Drive, Comox, BC.
The world is a brighter place with some people in it, our world is a little darker now.
