Joyce Eileen Slater passed away on September 11, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. Born in Vancouver on December 20, 1932. Joyce grew up in Richmond, BC. She moved to the Valley to farm in 1969, sold the farm & moved to Parksville in 1979. And then back to the Valley in 2002. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, travelling and Keno.
Predeceased by her Mother & Father, great grandchild Sophie, 1st husband Tom Slater and 2nd husband Cor Klaver.
Joyce is survived by her son Tom (Kathy) of Courtenay; daughter Susan (Rod) of Courtenay; grandchildren: John, Tricia (Shane), Lisa (Rick), Craig (Shannon) & Jessica; great-grandchildren: Paige, Lucas, Jackson, Sonny, Kyan & Rielle; as well as 4 nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
