Kay a longtime resident of Cumberland passed away at the North Island Hospital C.V. on Christmas morning after a short battle with pneumonia.
Kay was born and raised in Britannia Beach. After graduation she went to St. Paul's General Hospital where she became an R.N. She moved to Prince George to work, then in 1952 moved to Cumberland to work and be close to outdoor activities.
While living and working at Cumberland General Kay met her partner for life Wm. 'Bronco' Moncrief. Eventually becoming his 1st lady for some 30 plus years. They were both very active in the community, in numerous capacities and love Cumberland to this day. Kay moved with Bronco to Glacier View Lodge in October and have loved the view, care and workers so very much.
Kay was predeceased by her mother Molly, father Reg, siblings; Everett, Bill, Betty and Joan. Grandson Stephen and son Eddy. Along with other family members and many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Wm. Moncrief 'Bronco', daughter Julie (Mike) Smith, granddaughter Corinne (Mike) McNamee, daughter-in-law Greba Moncrief, grandchildren Andrew Stuart, Sydney (Steve) Moncrief, great grandchildren Liam and Ellie McNamee. Sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church, 2963 Lake Trail Rd. Courtenay, on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 1 pm. Tea to follow at O.A.P. Cultural Centre, 2764 Dunsmuir Ave, Cumberland.
