With much sadness we announce Kathy has passed away peacefully after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer's at Glacier View Lodge.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother Jim. She is survived by her husband Oliver, son Kevin (Athena), daughter Shelley (Niall), sister Marilyn (Tom deceased), Steve (Wendy). She is also survived by granddaughters; Brittney, Ashley (Kyle), Gabriel (Travis), Hailey, grandson Tyler (Malissa), and great granddaughter Kayleigh.
Kathy was born in Vancouver, her younger years growing up on Read and Cortez Islands, and moved to Courtenay in her teen years. Kathy loved her garden and growing everything from grapes to kiwis, her hazelnut orchard, and especially the harvesting time.
A big thank you to Dr. Hunter, Shannon, and the staff at Glacier View Lodge for the special care she received.
There will be no service at Kathy's request. A private family gathering will be held.
