Kitty Lindstrom

1913-2009


Kitty passed away quietly in her home at Casa Loma in Courtenay, on October 23rd, 2009. Predeceased by her husband Elwood, sister Alice Stewart, and brothers Alf, Arne, Gus and John Furseth; Kitty is survived by her loving sister Marcella Strange of Davidson, SK and brother Robert (Mary) Furseth of Kamloops, her much loved nieces and nephews, and all 10 of her children: Chester (Faye) Lindstrom, Kamloops; Frank (Gail) Lindstrom, Black Creek; Valerie (Ron) Cairns, Grand Forks; Elinor (Ken) Bergunder, Falkland; Richard (Diane) Lindstrom, Quesnel; Ronald (Valerie) Lindstrom, Qualicum Beach; Karen (Don) Cooke, Vancouver; Rhonda (Bill) Holcombe, Port Alberni; Teresa (Cy) Cottingham, Comox; Martha (Rick) Toth, Three Hills. Kitty was blessed with 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Born on a farm in Waldeck Saskatchewan, Kitty married and had 8 of her 10 children there before moving to Dawson Creek in 1950. Kitty had her last two children in the north, then she and Dad moved and eventually settled on Vancouver Island. Mom lived happily and independently in Courtenay until her passing at the age of 96. She was loved, and will be missed.

A celebration of life for Kitty will take place on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:00 am from the chapel at Piercy’s Funeral Home.
