The family of Laurel Johnson sadly announces her passing as the result of a car accident in the Comox Valley on November 9, 2016. Laurel was predeceased by her dad, Wilfred Salter, and both sets of grandparents. Left to mourn in the Comox Valley are her two sons, Max and Taylor, along with numerous friends, extended family and co-workers. Also grieving is Laurel’s family in Calgary; Mom Lorna Salter, sister Rhonda Salter, brother Deryk Salter (Lisa) and nieces Abbigail and Ella Salter, as well as extended family and several life-long friends. She enjoyed the local wildlife, especially the eagles and sea lions which reside along the coast. Laurel’s body will be cremated and she will be able to remain connected to island life forever. A memorial service will be performed at the Best Western Hotel in Courtenay BC on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Intensive Care Unit of the Vancouver General Hospital or the Comox Valley branch of the SPCA. 250-338-4463
