Born in Hankasalmi, Finland, Leila married Paul December 1st, 1957. The Salo's decided to move to Canada and made their new home initially in Sointula, British Columbia. They also lived in Courtenay for 25 years then Barriere for another 20 years. They returned back to Courtenay in July 2019.
Leila leaves behind her beloved husband, Paul, and two sons, Dennis (Maria), Tim (Donna) and grandson, Brian. She will be missed by her relatives and many friends.
Leila will be remembered for her love of painting and gardening.
