GRAY, Len

August 12, 1931 – July 10, 2012

Len passed away at The Views on July 10th. He is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Joan, son Gordon and daughter-in-law Charlene, son Steven, grandson Kevin and step grandchildren Bryan and Lindsay. Predeceased by parents Eric and Jessie.

His grandparents came to Dove Creek and Merville after WWI. Len was born in Comox and lived in Merville for the first 10 years of his life before moving to Headquarters and then Courtenay. At the age of 16 he went to work for Comox Logging and began a career that would last over 40 years. A job he loved. He endured camp life for many years providing a living for his family.

Len hunted and fished in his younger days and the family enjoyed many dinners of fresh trout, venison and pheasant. The ravages of rheumatoid arthritis slowly eliminated his ability to work and the other pleasures that we all take for granted. In his retirement Len enjoyed the company of family and friends, always with a story to tell.

The family would like to thank those who helped with his care over the recent years while he was a home and last few months in hospital. There will be no service by his request.
