Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Ps 116:15 Leslie, age 77, passed away in the comfort of his own home as a result of respiratory failure and ALS.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty years, Iris (nee Manthorne); his children Jessica (Steve) Cope and their children River and Spencer; Jasmine (boyfriend Forrest) and Jeremy (girlfriend Kirsten); step children from his first marriage Bruce Gordon and Sherri Gordon and her children Travis, Chelsea and Clara; his brother Irv Follack (BC), sister Grace Harris (Utah), many nieces and nephews and special cousin Dennis (Janice) Friesen who was like a brother to him.

Predeceased by his sister Gladys (Wilf) Foisy and their daughter Tammy, brother Wilfred (Dolores) Follack, sister-in-law Doreen Follack and brother-in-law Bill Harris.

Leslie was born in Saskatchewan and moved to BC when his father entered the Army during the war. In 1959, he joined the Air Force and became a radar technician for twenty years with a one year break on the DEW Line. In 1980, Leslie retired as Warrant Officer in Comox, BC. In the next two years, he went to college, got into business and then headed to Saudi Arabia for two years until 1984 when he returned to the Comox Valley.

Shortly after this, Leslie became a Christian and his love for Jesus and the Bible began as well as his love for the land of Israel which he visited twice. In 1987 he married Iris and began a family which he again enjoyed. His life from then on was filled with many things, all the while eating lots of apples.

Leslie loved to talk about and explain the Bible to others and to sing and play Christian songs on his guitar. He was a no fuss, down to earth type of man with simple tastes, a big heart and a gentle soul. We will always remember Leslie with fondness and love.

His hope was Ps 17:15. In remembrance of him, please enjoy an apple, ice cream and a Bible verse. Leslie would like that. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Piercy's-Mt. Washington Funeral Home (440 England Ave in Courtenay).
