1920 ~ 2003
Lester passed away peacefully on September 25, 2003 at Glacier View Lodge after struggling with Parkinson’s Disease. A farm boy from Alberta, Les served with the Tank Corp. during World War II and worked for many years at the smelter in Trail, B.C. Retiring to the Comox Valley, Les’s garden became his life and passion. A quiet and gentle man with a dry wit and sense of humour. Les will be sadly missed by his many friends and extended family. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Glacier View Lodge for their loving care and attention to Les during the past year. At his request, there will be no service, COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD in care of arrangements. Donations may be made in Les’s memory to the Glacier View Lodge Society, 2450 Back Road, Courtenay V9N 9G8 or the Anderton Therapeutic Gardens Society, P.O. Box 1416, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z9 would be appreciated.
