Oct 22, 1923 – Feb 5, 2018
Sadly Lois Eileen Webb passed away suddenly at Comox Hospital on February 5, 2018.
She was born on October 22, 1923 in Regina Saskatchewan to parents Louis and Sarah Francis (Scott) Eidt. She grew up on a prairie farm but as a teenager moved with the family to Vancouver. Here she attended school in Kitsilano but left during grade twelve to build airplanes for the war effort. When the war ended she met and married Ed Webb on February 1, 1946.
The couple lived in Vancouver and then Burnaby while they raised a family of four boys and two girls. When Ed retired they moved to Denman Island and finally to Holiday Road at Fanny Bay. She served forty plus years with Canadian Daughters.
In her later life she loved crafts, crib, potluck dinners with neighbours, the Fanny Bay OAP, and attending Church. At age ninety-four she was a courageous, capable, hard working woman who survived cancer, and was able to live in her own home until a stroke ended her life.
She is survived by her sons Doug (Jacquie), Stan, Jack (Lynne), Ed (Heather), her daughters Carole (Al), Debbie (Linley), ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Christine, brothers Ken and Toby, husband Ed, daughter-in-law Lily and grandson Rodney.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Union Bay Hall on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
In her nineties she still collected for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, so in lieu of flowers a donation to this group would be her wish.
