In Loving Memory ~

Maimee Elizabeth Tomlinson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and esteemed educator, passed away on March 10, 2024, at 88 in North Island Hospital. Born on August 24, 1935, in Port Alberni, BC, Maimee's life was marked by love, dedication, and service to her family, community, and students.

She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Fred Tomlinson, her children, Doug Tomlinson (Denise) and Dawne Tomlinson (Chris, Paige, and Kirstin), her grandchildren, Michael Tomlinson (Lacey), Nicholas Tomlinson (Loren), and Mikayla Conrad-Tomlinson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jude and Theo Tomlinson. Maimee was immensely proud of her family, finding joy in their accomplishments and shared moments.

Throughout her life, Maimee served as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration in the Comox Valley, excelling as a master teacher, primary consultant, principal, and author. Her passion for education left a lasting imprint on generations of students and colleagues.

In addition to her professional achievements, Maimee found solace and joy in her Royston home, where she tended to her beloved garden with care and dedication, reflecting her love for beauty and organization.

She cherished her friendships, enjoying time with her Bridge Club and the University Women's Club, as well as traveling the world with good friends.

Maimee's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Though she has departed this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, remembered for her grace, wisdom, humor, and boundless love.

In accordance with her wishes, a small Celebration of Life was held on March 17, 2024, at Ocean Front Village. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.

Maimee's own words encapsulate her outlook on life: "Shed no tears. I have been lucky. I enjoyed my family and friends and loved my life. I loved the opportunity I had to create - in my job and my activities. I loved any opportunity I had to be needed."
