On April 9th, my best friend and soulmate of 44-years, Malcolm Peddie, passed away. Our family has lost a treasured brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and foster-dad. A nephew expressed, “Malcolm was the most generous, unselfish person he knew, always putting others first, considerate to a fault.” We are especially grateful to Malcolm’s incredibly-dedicated physician, Dr. Daniel Wainberg, and to the amazingly-caring and attentive nurses, counselors and care-aides at the Hospice at The Views. I would like to thank the team at Piercy’s-Mt. Washington Funeral Home. Although Malcolm had specifically asked for the most basic of arrangements, Edith, Todd, Joey, Charmaine, Roger and Darren treated me with the same wonderful respect and attention as they would have for a family member making the most elaborate of funeral arrangements. Thank you to the many Valley Whist and Bridge players for their cards, letters and calls. Special thanks to Gail, to Grace, (and to Jo), Karin, Rosie & Bob, and to Mary, who have been like “security blankets” for me, during a difficult 2-year period. Sadly, Jo passed away 4-days after Malcolm, in the room next door to him at the Hospice at The Views. Malcolm was my greatest “protector” over our 44-years, his favorite phrase being: “Don’t tell Wendy”!! As one of my sympathy cards reads: “My best friend has gone from my sight, but not from my heart”. Wendy Kneeland-Peddie
