Pettigrew Margaret Eloise
1945 - 2006 (nee Alke)
After a two year battle with cancer, Eloise passed away on October 8th. She is survived by her mother, Margaret, husband of thirty four years Wally, children Stephanie Bennett (David), Grayson, and Jennifer, grandchildren, Alexander and Aine Bennett, and supporting siblings, Mary-Susan Gagnon, Byron Alke, Elizabeth Alke, and Hillary Bray.
Born in Vancouver, Eloise attended Little Flower Academy, Prince of Wales, and U.B.C. before starting her working career with B.C. Tel. After marrying Wally in 1972 she continued her career in Victoria and Penticton before stopping to raise her children in Kelowna. She retrained herself as a teacher’s aide and started a new career in Summerland. Moving to Courtenay in 1988 she was able to continue her career with School District 71 working primarily at Vanier High School up to the time of her illness.
She will be sadly missed by all of us.
