Margaret Patricia Lucas was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta on July 24, 1916. She entered Heaven’s Gate on July 30, 2013. Margaret was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Murray. She was pre-deceased by her seven siblings.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband Charles Gilbert (Gil) Lucas. They met on a blind date and were happily married for seventy three years. Margaret is also survived by her six children; Patricia (Roland) Blais, Joan (Robert) Ross, Mary Lucas, Gary (Tina Kelly) Lucas, Susan Johnstone, Kathy Hazlehurst, her eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Margaret was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit and beautiful smile.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1599 Tunner Drive, Courtenay, B.C. with Father Joe Killoran officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Hunter, Dr. Dan and the Third Floor staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care of Margaret.
