August 7, 1930 - January 14, 2019
Marjorie was born August 7th, 1930 in Goderich, Ontario, and passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2019 at the age of 88 years.

Marjorie was the eldest of three children, two brothers and a sister: Bob Baxter (Marjorie), Bill Baxter (Carol), and Phyllis Durst. She leaves three adult adopted children from her first marriage; Leigh Webber, Ward Webber, and Brooke Webber.

Marjorie graduated from Toronto Western School of Nursing in 1951, after which she went into Public Health Nursing. In 1960 Marjorie volunteered with the Red Cross and went to Morocco to provide care in the aftermath of an earthquake to those in need.

Upon arriving home, she retrained to specialize as an OR nurse. After settling in Comox, Marjorie spent over twenty years as an OR nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. She also enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Comox Legion, and with the RCAF Wing at CFB Comox.

Marjorie loved golfing, bridge, sailing, cruising and travel. Marjorie and Max spent time in New Zealand and Australia on a house exchange to enjoy golf. Cruised the Caribbean and passed through the Panama Canal, and along with land tours of Alaska and Tasmania, enjoyed many trips and adventures together. As part of Marjorie's sailing adventures, several circumnavigations of Vancouver Island in a 54-foot sailboat were made. Eight winters were spent in Hemet, California, where Max and Marjorie golfed, made friends, and enjoyed the many activities offered in Golden Village RV Park.

Marjorie enjoyed being with people and developing long lasting friendships wherever she travelled, and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Itta Winter for her exceptional kindness, caring, and compassion in taking such wonderful care of Marjorie, and sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Comox Valley Hospital for the amazing care received. Thank you.

Donations gratefully accepted on Marjorie's behalf to the Salvation Army, 2966 Kilpatrick Ave, Courtenay, BC V9N 8P1.

A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at 2 pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay with a reception to follow in the "Garden Room" of the funeral home.
