In Loving Memory ~
We announce with sadness the passing of our mother Pat Gray (nee Marpole), on August 31, 2023.
She is survived by her three children, Joan, Gordon (Charlene) and Steven, grandson Kevin (Kierra) and two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Rylah, who called her Great Nana. She also leaves her nephew Ken Marpole and his family.
She was predeceased by her parents Hannah Halcrow and John Marpole, her siblings Dick, Jack and Monie, and her husband Len in 2012.
Mom was born in Cumberland on October 5, 1929 and lived there until her mid 20s when she married Len and moved to Kelsey Bay where dad worked as a logger.
After 10 years and the birth of three children, the family moved to Comox where she lived until her death.
Mom was full of common sense, funny and kind, sometimes described as a bit of a character. It was her nature to want to help people and she was friendly to everyone. To her children, she was supportive, interested in what we were up to, and always loving. Where she was, was always home. She will be dearly missed.
The family wishes to thank the residents and staff of Berwick for their friendship and assistance to mom, and the staff of 3C at Comox Hospital who took such gentle care of her in her last days, as well as being kind to us. We'd also like to thank our friends who have supported us over the past weeks.
