Rose, Matthew Cameron
1982 – 2005
It is with the deepest sorrow that the Rose family an-nounces the tragic death of their son and brother, Matthew Cameron Rose. Matthew was born in the Comox Valley on March 19th, 1982. Matthew attended Tsolum Elementary, Courtenay Junior and Vanier Secondary Schools. He enjoyed a variety of extracurricular activities with football being his favorite. He moved to the Calgary area after graduating from highschool. His life there was full and happy, and the quality of friends that he acquired are a true reflection of the man he was. Matt recently enrolled in the Steamfitter-Pipefitter Apprenticeship program and was scheduled to begin in February. On October 8th, Matthew succumbed to complications from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident that occurred on October 2nd. Matthew leaves behind his mom Heather (Gord); dad Bill (Marilyn); sister Crystal (Vern); uncles Terry (Jean) and Ian (Lucy), aunty Lila (Dan); cousins Teresa (Sean), Alyssa (Brandon), Darren and Louise; and many relatives in Kingston, Ontario. Matthew also leaves behind many special friends in the Comox Valley and Alberta. A Service of Remembrance will be held on October 22nd at 1pm at Piercy’s Funeral Home. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations in Matt’s memory to the Raider’s Football Club would be gratefully appreciated.
