With great sadness, the family announces the passing of our beloved Mel, who left our world in the early hours on Tuesday, August 22nd. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eileen, his four children: Greg (Lil), Barb (John), Blaine (Jan), and Cathy (Dan). He also leaves to mourn seven grandchildren. A good life lived with family and friends galore. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 1:00pm at Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 3256, Courtenay, BC V9N 5N4. Thanks especially to Dr. Fitzpatrick and St. Joseph’s and ECU staff who took extra special care of Mel.
