passed away in Nanaimo General Hospital on September 23, 2016. Murray was predeceased by his wife Ione and sister Shirley MacGregor. He is survived by his sons Brian (Pippa), David (Jennifer), Neil (Jill) and Ian, Steve (Hope), grandchildren Autumn, Heather, Emma, Melody, Jesse and Buffy, great-granddaughter Aubrey, nieces Barb and Carol and nephew Rod.

Murray belonged to the Comox Jazz Club, Cubs and Scouts/Quebec. He began his career with Air Canada in Edmonton, Alberta in 1946 and was transferred to Montreal where he continued to work as a systems analyst for the next 36 years, when he retired and moved to Comox, BC with his wife Ione. In Murray’s leisure time, he enjoyed hiking, jazz, gardening, travelling and reading. He was a very kind and generous man, who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very conscientious family man who took all of his family responsibilities very seriously. He was a lifelong learner and had a great sense of humour.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Murray’s memory made to the Comox SPCA or Filberg Lodge would be appreciated.

A family gathering will be held sometime in the summer of 2017 in the Comox area.
