VATON, Paulina (nee Huculak)
1925-2011
Died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, March 11, 2011 after a short illness. She was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Annie Huculak and her youngest sister, Victoria. She is sadly missed by her husband of 66 years Robert, her children Paulette and Glenn, her sisters Mary and Helen and many nieces and nephews.
Polly was born in Corbin, B.C. (Fernie). She spent much of her childhood in Vancouver, before moving to Cumberland in 1940. Her passions were her family and her home. She loved holiday gatherings, Ukrainian celebrations, and was known in the neighbourhood for her prolific flower and vegetable gardens.
The music of Daniel O’Donnell gave her endless pleasure. We would like to extend our thanks to Drs. Fockler and Bryant and to 3rd Floor nurses for their care and compassion. A family celebration of Paulina’s life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Piercy’s Mt. Washington Funeral Home.
