Peter passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox on Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Peter was the youngest of seven children, born to Nickolas and Dora Kostiuk in Kelliher, Saskatchewan. He spent his formative years in Kelliher before moving to Courtenay, where he met his soon to be bride, Gale Robinson at the bowling alley in Courtenay. Love quickly bloomed and they were wed on December 26, 1962.

Peter worked his early years employed with the Overwaitea grocery chain for over 20 years. He was an avid fisherman who also loved camping and hunting. He was a part-time inventor, and in 1967 Peter and Gale formed Kost Klip Manufacturing Limited. He invented and produced merchandising aids and sign holders used in retail outlets. One of his many inventions was the GSP 10 from which profits were earmarked for charitable works. True to their purpose they went on to sponsor 65 children and one missionary family in developing countries. Peter and Gale continued to operate Kost Klip and sponsor many charities over the years with the profits from their successful operation, until they sold the company in 1995.

Peter was predeceased by his parents and six siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Gale, daughter Patti Epp (Dale), grandchildren Isabel and Justus, of New Zealand and daughter Sandy Vanderveen (Hugh), grandchildren Mandolin, Marina and Tegan of Courtenay.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday June 14, 2014 at Bay Community Church, 1105 Pritchard Road, Comox.
