Reginald Wannamaker passed away peacefully at the Comox Valley Hospital on March 1, 2019, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Rosina Wannamaker, loving father of Bonnie Stiles, Kerry and her husband Bruce Palmer, Lynn Wannamaker, Michael and his wife Tracy Wannamaker, John and his wife Laura Wannamaker. Reg was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Cherished living sister Doris Franklin, living brothers Bob and Larry Wannamaker and their wives Hope and Lois. Deceased sisters Hope McRoberts, Eileen Poole and infant sister Betty Wannamaker. Reg will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family, church friends, Korean Veteran friends and community friends. 

A special thank you to all the excellent staff on the 3rd floor section D at the Comox Valley Hospital, for all their care, support and kindness. 

Reg served as a Sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces artillery section. He also fought in the Korean War. He set up the Family History Centre at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, helping many find their relatives. One of his motto's was "Be prepared for any disaster" often writing articles for the newspaper on this topic. 

For many years he served as a scout leader taking many scout troops from all over the island and mainland up to the mountains, teaching them survival skills.  He loved attending his Korean meetings each Thursday with his fellow associates at the legion in Comox.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 am, viewing 1 hour prior to the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 1901 20th Street, Courtenay, BC. A reception will follow at the church. Interment at Cumberland Cemetery.
