Robert was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on March 27, 1922 and grew up in Three Hills, Alberta. As a teenager, he loved playing tennis and hockey. He later served in World War II as a radio technician with the 39th Reconnaissance Wing in Europe. Robert married Dorothy Hammill in 1945 and they resided in Calgary where he was a carpenter/contractor until 1972. Robert was always very sociable and enjoyed these activities immensely.

Many thanks go out to Dr. David Musgrave, Dr. Peter Gee, the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital and the staff of the Berwidk for all of the care and concern they gave to Robert. We would also like to send special thanks to John and Wendy Waterman for their friendship and assistance over the years.
