December 20, 1937 - March 11, 2024

In loving memory ~

Ronald William Egan, 86 years old, of Courtenay, BC passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, in the loving company of his partner, Catherine Robinson.

Ron was born in Winnipeg, MB on December 20, 1937. The family moved to Victoria, BC when he was 12 years old. They then moved to Courtenay in the beautiful Comox Valley in 1953 when Ron was 17.

Ron was an electrician by trade and, after working at several different places, finished his career working at CFB Comox in the CE section at the steam plant. He was a member of the local Royal Canadian Legion for many years. Classical music was a favourite and he was a huge fan of Andre Rieu. When it came to movies, John Wayne was king.

Ron was well known for his artwork in the Valley. He created many sketches of local scenery and a wide variety of airplanes. He loved to draw and talk about the Avro Arrow.

A highlight for Ron was going for coffee with his many friends. A&W was a favourite spot.

During his brief residence at the Courtenay Kiwanis Village he quickly became an integral member of the community.

Ron is survived by his partner, Catherine Robinson; His children: Jim (Sybel) Egan, Denise Egan; His grandchildren: Cassandra (Skylar) Egan and great-grandson Noah, Nicholas (Molly) Egan, Carson Blackstock, Royce (Elodie) Blackstock, His brother Brian (Isabel) Egan; His sister Eileen (Mike) Adamczyk. "Papa Ron" will also be greatly missed by Catherine's children and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Glacier View Lodge for their loving and compassionate care of Ron while he resided there.
