November 12, 1925 - January 21, 2024

In Loving Memory ~

The passing of our amazing Dad, Rudolf Walter at the wonderful age of 98. Known lovingly as Rudy, he had a full life and was at peace as he gently slipped into sleep one last time on January 21st, 2024.

Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Ardis, Son Brian and Grandson Brent.

He is survived by his children Renate Wilson(Al), Rainer Walter, Greta Webster and son-in-law Gary Webster, granddaughter Andrea and great grandchildren Hailey(Hunter), Hayden and Evan, as well as many nieces and nephews and grandpuppy Dawson.

Born in Darmstadt Germany in 1925, both world wars would touch his young life. In 1951 he would leave post war Germany for Canada bringing with him his trades of watchmaker, welder, mechanic and machinist and a determination to build a better life for his young family.

Dad was a proud, hard working man who believed in God, family, eggs for breakfast and that the turkey drumstick should be enjoyed to the last morsel. He was a smart, kind, generous man with a wonderful smile who always loved to share a story and could fix almost anything.

He moved into The Views in Comox at the age of 97 where he enjoyed his remaining time feeling very much at home visiting with friends, enjoying outings, activities, pickled herring, chinese food and listening to music.

We are so grateful for all the care & compassion given to Rudy at Eagleview by so many, you are all truly amazing people. A special thank-you from the bottom of our hearts to the care team for the incredible level of care and respect you gave our wonderful Dad especially in his last few weeks.

We would also like to acknowledge the friendship and support from so many that visited or took Rudy out, always bringing a smile to his face.

Dad had an incredibly strong and positive spirit his whole life and carried it with him until the end. He had an amazing life and it was important to him that his story be told so we will do so at his service this spring. We will share all his achievements, joys, hobbies and favourite things.

Notice of his service will follow in April, both here and online at piercysmtwashingtonfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the activities department at Providence Living, The Views at St. Joseph's and please spend some time with a senior.

Sit and listen to their life stories, share in their memories so you can pass them on.

Dad, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten. Now it is your time to rest, we will carry you in our hearts forever.

The Lord is my Pilot, I shall not drift.

He lighteth me across the dark waters:

He steereth me in deep channels: He keepeth my log.

He guideth me by the Star of

Holiness for His Name's sake.

Yea, though I sail mid the thunders and tempests of life,

I will dread no longer, for Thou art with me;

Thy love and Thy care they shelter me.

Thou preparest a harbour before me

in the homeland of Eternity.

Thou annointest the waves with oil.

My ship rideth calmly.

Surely sunlight and starlight

shall favour me on the voyage I take

And I will rest in the port of my God forever.
