MORRISON, Shirley Irene
August 22, 1931 - September 8, 2012
After a lifetime devoted to family, friends and community, Shirley Irene Morrison (nee Cockle) passed away at Cumberland Lodge on September 8, 2012 at the age of 81 years.
Shirley will be forever loved and remembered by her two children, William Douglas (Kathryn) and Cindy Todaro and sister Elaine (Dave) Secord.
Also saddened by their beloved Gramma passing are her grandchildren: Dean (Brenda) Emmanouil, Christopher Emmanouil, Evan Morrison, Lea (Derek) Lindberg and Caitlin (Ash) Urlacher. She also has eight great grandchildren who will miss knowing her.
Shirley was born in Mather, Manitoba. She met and married William (Mo) Morrison while they were both in the Canadian Military serving in West Germany. They took great delight in meeting new people while posted at their various bases across Canada and Germany and loved travelling to reunions to maintain those long-standing friendships. They also cruised in the later years and enjoyed the golfing and new friendships in Arizona during the winters.
Shirley’s family would like to thank the Cumberland Lodge for their excellent care of Shirley. The kindness and compassion shown by the staff reflect the loving family atmosphere of Shirley’s last home on earth.
