LIVE LAUGH LOVE best describes the life of our much beloved Vera Marion Bertrand. Vera was 92 when she passed away this month. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and wife.

She was predeceased by her first husband Johnny Johnson in the early sixties, her son Larry in 2014; and, her husband of over 50 years, William (Bill) Bertrand, in July 2017.

Vera was a small town prairie girl who followed her husband Johnny to Vancouver where they would raise three sons, Ron, Bob, and Larry. Widowed suddenly in 1961, Vera's strength and tenacity would see her rising to the challenge of raising three young boys.

During the next four years, following Johnny's passing, Vera would move to a new neighborhood where she would meet and marry Bill Bertrand. Vera and Bill would eventually move to Comox in 1976 where they would make many lifelong friends.

Vera's greatest joy was first and foremost, her family. She loved people, fishing, camping at Kitty Coleman, playing cards with her family, and partying with friends at the Legion. Together Vera and Bill also loved gardening and even received awards for their beautiful landscaped yard.

Vera loved life, she loved to laugh, she loved big and she was awesome. We were all so lucky to have had her in our lives and we will miss her.
