Willy Vogl passed away peacefully in Comox, British Columbia on May 12, 2010. He was predeceased by his father Joseph, his mother Anna and his sisters Elly and Franzi. Willy is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Susie, sons Mark and Christian both of Vancouver, his daughters Alex (Thomas) of Germany and Deanna (Aaron) of Courtenay, his brother Joe (Hilde) of Fort St. James as well as his nieces and nephews; Sepp and Toni, Eric and Gillene, Willy Jr. and great nephews Seppi, Kevin and Tristan and great nieces Sonja and Kyla.
Willy worked 40 years in the hotel and restaurant business. In later years he worked as a fishing guide in Terrace and Port Alberni. In his leisure time Willy enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved volunteering at the Oyster River Enhancement Society. If friends so wish, donations in Willy’s memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oyster River Enhancement Society would be greatly appreciated.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wayne D. Crowe, the VIHA home care nurses and the staff on the 3rd floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital for the care they gave to Willy.
A family memorial service will take place at a later date.
