Yves "Cal" Callarec passed away peacefully on May 10, 2018 at The Views at St. Joseph's. Predeceased by his son Marc Denis Callarec (1993), Yves is survived by his wife Beverley Callarec, his sister Rejane Morin, and sons Robert Callarec (Wendy), Lance Callarec (Judy), Brian DeVries, daughters Diane McQueen (Ed), Lila DeVries, Denise Esterer (Rob), grandchildren Stacey Frizzon-Lamonte, Ben McQueen, Nick Esterer, Christopher Esterer, Danielle Callarec, Justin Callarec, Christine, Richard and Theresa and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cal was a Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1952 to 1978. He worked as an electrician and instrument mechanic on the strategic Voodoos. He played a part in maintaining air defense during the Cold War.

Cal enjoyed gardening, reading, playing horseshoes, watching hockey games, including those of his sons and grandsons, and walking the many dogs he loved in his lifetime.

Cal will be remember as a devoted family man, loving husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, a hard- working, proud man and a fastidious gardener and an active church member.

Flowers gratefully declined. Please make donations to the Hospice at The Views and/or Cumberland Community Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cumberland Community Church on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
