Dear editor,
Re: Smart meters.
A friend had a smart meter installed on Thursday, June 14.
It was set at 0 and we have been watching said meter with interest and trepidation since then.
As of Monday (June 18) evening, the meter reading was 80 and climbing steadily.
Not bad, you say? Well, the catch is that the owner is not living in the house at this time, and the only thing drawing electricity in the house is the fridge.
Everything else is turned off.
The average fridge draws about 1.4 kwh per day, so this smart meter is obviously creating a usage record that is false.
We'd really like to hear an explanation of this.
