Tapestry replica rare

Dear editor, I read the article about the tapestry in our local Comox Valley Record (Aug. 19) and thought your writers might be interested to know that Dr. Ray Dugan, who lives in Waterloo, Ont., (a personal friend) while living in France some years ago, bought a printed reproduction of this tapestry to embroider.

Dear editor,I read the article about the tapestry in our local Comox Valley Record (Aug. 19) and thought your writers might be interested to know that Dr. Ray Dugan, who lives in Waterloo, Ont., (a personal friend) while living in France some years ago, bought a printed reproduction of this tapestry to embroider. It is linen, complete with wool yarns in subtle colours dyed with herbs and plants as per the original.Ray started work to embroider the tapestry, carefully following the pattern on the linen. I saw it during several times in his home, with huge rolls of linen on each side of the section he was working on.When finished, it was displayed in the Kitchener (Ontario) Town Hall and other places — I've now lost touch after moving to Comox in 2006, but your article prompted memories of seeing it both as it was progressing and also completed and on display.Given the cost, length of fabric and time needed, I doubt there are many such replicas.Judi Pedder,Comox
