Berge paces Comox Valley Glacier Kings with six goals

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings bounced back from a three-game losing streak Friday at the Comox Valley Sports Centre, where the junior B hockey team thumped the visiting Nanaimo Bucs 12-2. Yetis captain Caileb Berge scored six goals and added one assist. Four of his goals came in the second period.

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings bounced back from a three-game losing streak Friday at the Comox Valley Sports Centre, where the junior B hockey team thumped the visiting Nanaimo Bucs 12-2. Yetis captain Caileb Berge scored six goals and added one assist. Four of his goals came in the second period.

Ty Moore opened the scoring for the Kings at 9:20 of the first period. Moore added a second goal to close out the scoring at 15:16 of the third frame. Matthew Teasdale, Aodhan Hildebrandt, Lochlan Willis and Eric Van Loon also scored for the home team.

Kings goalie Ryder Lally made 25 saves. He bumped his record to nine wins and five losses.

Berge is fourth overall in VIJHL scoring. He has 44 points in 22 games. Teasdale sits in 12th spot with 32 points in 21 games played.

Sunday’s game against Kerry Park was postponed.

Comox Valley’s next game is Thursday, Nov. 18 in Nanaimo.
