The senior girls basketball teams from Isfeld and Highland engaged in an exciting battle Thursday, Dec. 16 at Isfeld Secondary in Courtenay.

The teams exchanged buckets in a seesaw first half, which ended 26-24 in favour of Isfeld.

The home side was up by seven points at the start of the fourth quarter, but the Raiders from Comox came back and won the game 64-59.

“(It was) A team effort for sure,” Highland coach James Warren said. “Everyone contributed, including the bench.”

Emma Warren, Cass Campbell, Kenzie Stevens and Carly Tutt were the high scorers of the game.

Warren is the only Grade 12 on the Raiders team, which includes 13 Grade 11 players.

Highland lost 52-43 to Kwalikum Secondary School in its home opener Tuesday, Dec. 14.

The girls from Highland next game is Jan. 7 at home against Stz’uminus Community School from Ladysmith.
