Dakota Sanzana of Comox won a gold and silver medal at the youth provincial judo championships in Kamloops.
She won the U16 division and was second in the U18 -48kg class.
“Dakota felt pretty good going into this tournament after the results she pulled in Montreal, winning a bronze medal in the Elite Eight U18 division,” a news release states.
The youth provincials are a mandatory tournament to collect points to attend nationals in Edmonton.
February is a busy month training for the 2020 Edmonton International Judo Championship March 6-8, hosted by Judo Alberta, and the 2020 Pacific International Judo Tournament hosted by the Steveson Judo Club March 14-15.
