Comox judoka wins two bronze medals

Makayla and Dakota Sanzana of Comox, competing for the Nanaimo Judo Club, competed last weekend at the 14th annual Edmonton International Judo Championship. The event had more than 700 competitors from across the country and abroad.

Makayla and Dakota Sanzana of Comox, competing for the Nanaimo Judo Club, competed last weekend at the 14th annual Edmonton International Judo Championship. The event had more than 700 competitors from across the country and abroad.

Dakota won a bronze in the U14, 44 kg class with three wins and a loss. She won a second bronze in the U16 44 kg division with two wins and two losses.

Makayla won one and lost two in U16. They both had a chance to train with the team from Japan.

Next weekend is the Pacific International in Vancouver.
