The Comox United Over 39s were in Victoria over the weekend to participate in the 2024 Bill Drew Memorial Soccerfest.

The tournament has been going on for well over 15 years and has always been extremely successful with teams coming from as far as Calgary, and Portland, Oregon.

Last year the Over 39s played four games and went undefeated. This year the team went down with a 15-player roster that wanted to continue their success while only playing three games, due to injuries. Their first game was against Vic West, a powerhouse of a club. Comox won 2-1.

They followed that up with a 3-0 victory over the Centaurs.

Their last game was against Cordova. The Comox squad dug deep to finish the game with a 4-2 victory for a perfect 3-0-0 record.

The team thanks the organizers of the event Hu Wallis and his team for making another Bill Drew tournament memorable.
