Comox Valley 9U Jets win Island Regional baseball championship

The Comox Valley 9U Jets competed against 15 teams to win gold at the Vancouver Island Regionals in Duncan over the July 9-11 weekend. They came first in their pool to move on to the quarter-finals against the Campbell River Reds. Following that win, they played the Nanaimo Pirates in the semifinals.

The Comox Valley 9U Jets competed against 15 teams to win gold at the Vancouver Island Regionals in Duncan over the July 9-11 weekend. They came first in their pool to move on to the quarter-finals against the Campbell River Reds. Following that win, they played the Nanaimo Pirates in the semifinals.

Greyson Heynen made an incredible tag at home plate for the final out, preserving a one-run win over the Pirates.

The Jets then played Victoria’s Carnavon Cannons in the finals. A tie game going into the last inning, Lewis Green hit a walk-off double, scoring Bentley Williams to win another action-packed game.
