Comox Valley rugby player named to B.C. team

Nicolette Vinnedge played for the B.C. Rugby girls youth team that competed over the weekend at the Western Canadian Sevens Championships in Edmonton. The Comox Valley product was on the BC Rugby U17 team that competed last August at nationals in Winnipeg.

Nicolette Vinnedge played for the B.C. Rugby girls youth team that competed over the weekend at the Western Canadian Sevens Championships in Edmonton. The Comox Valley product was on the BC Rugby U17 team that competed last August at nationals in Winnipeg.

The Westerns featured teams from all four western provinces. B.C. had teams in both the boys’ and gilrs’ tournaments.

“We have a mix of speed and power, so it will be exciting to see how this group performs against the teams from the other western provinces,” girls head coach Darcy Patterson said.

Teams were selected from the Elite Youth Sevens Program.Results of the tournament were not available by press time.
