Crown Isle ladies enjoying their golf

Good weather and the course is in excellent condition

Could Tuesday Crown Isle ladies' golf get any better? Blue skies, warm sun on our backs, great camaraderie and some ladies even played golf well!

The June 4 game was Nassau – front 9 low net, back 9 low net and overall 18 holes low net.

Front 9 1st low net 34-Pat Johnson, Daneen Karch, and Shirley Podovsky. Front 9 2nd low net 35-Carol Ayley, Helen Flynn Liz Ellis and Janet Phillips.

Back 9 1st low net 32- Barb Parker, Marsha MacKinnon, and Linda Foreman. Back 9 2nd low net 35- Mae Mitchell, Shirley Ketter, Pam Stevens, and Peggy Quinney.

Overall low net 68 Ev Shaw, 2nd overall low net Audrey Clark and Maggie Maclean.

KPs #4 Sandra Morton and #12 Judy Pouliot. The birdie and par 5 pots were quickly depleted with lots of ladies taking their share. Must be the fine weather!

Don't forget the Ladies Nine and Wine on June 26 with shotgun at 5:30 p.m. Wine, appys, prizes and lots of laughs. Remember it is open to all ladies.

On May 28, wind and rain greeted the golfers for the Pin/CTC Qualifier Day. Two CTC teams were formed from low, middle and high handicappers who will compete in the Zone 6 championships in Port Alberni in June.

The qualifiers were: team 1 Raelene Robertson, Marsha Mackinnon and Gillian Kirkpatrick; team 2 Mathilde Schneider, Audrey Clark and Judy Alcroft. Alternates are Maggie Maclean and Donna Cunliffe.

The regular golf winners were: Low net Raelene Robertson 65, Gillian Kilpatrick 73. Low gross: Mathilde Schneider 84, Maggie Maclean 85. KPs: Katy Macaulay #16 and Val Dingwall #7. Par 5s (25 plus): Linda Stickney, Joanne Meyer, Judy Alcroft and Donna Cunliffe

Congratulations to  Raelene Robertson (open low net and senior low net), Dee Horie, Sheila van Gisbergen, Katy Macaulay and Val Dingwall who competed in the Zone 6 Amateur and Senior Amateur Tournament at Glacier Greens.

A huge thank you to Allan and Sandra Barwick and Bryan and Elaine Johnston for overseeing a fantastic Couples' Blind Partners tournament on Sunday.  The weather, the brunch and appetizers after golf, the organization and the prizes were second to none.

Congrats to Sandy Lindhart and Roger Shaw for winning this very enjoyable event. Without organizers like the Barwicks, Johnstons, and Chalmers these fun filled golf days would not be possible. Don't miss the next one on July 7.
