Aleasha Wiebe is hoping for another trip to the BMX World Championships.

In a couple of weeks, the 22-year-old Cumberland athlete plans to race at nationals in Toronto to qualify for the 2020 world event in Houston, Texas.

In 2017, Wiebe competed in the amateur category at worlds in Rock Hill, South Carolina. At age eight, she competed at her first world event in Rotterdam in 2014.

“I’m focusing on my pro career this season,” said Wiebe, who rides for GT Bikes. “Just had my pro debut two weeks ago.”

She had a pair of third-place finishes at the Cactus Classic Nationals June 7-9 in Kamloops.
