Friesen wins Sunnydale Ladies Championship

Sunnydale Ladies held their club championship Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, with wind on Friday and a bit of a downpour for a few holes on Saturday, but had a good time overall.

Sunnydale Ladies held their club championship Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, with wind on Friday and a bit of a downpour for a few holes on Saturday, but had a good time overall.

Thee club champion this year with a gross score of 168 over the two days was Crystal Friesen, and low net winner with a score of 144 was Mandy Johns.

The tournament was well run by Linda Broadbent.

Also winning prizes in the low gross category Holly Sanders (171, second), Carolyn Walker (176, third) Joan Rallison (179, fourth), and Linda Broadbent, whose 192 was good for fifth overall.

Runners up in the low net category were Laurie Appleyard (second, 145), Kathie Reid (third, 145), Bev Slater (fourth, 147) and Sandra Gallaway (fifth, 147)

Rob Speer Pro Shop besides doing our scoring, generously donated prizes and $10 for each birdie made. Crystal Friesen had three birdies, Holly Sanders , Laurie Appleyard and Judy Berkeley had two, and Jen Zbinden, Deb Hames, Magge Miller, Kathie Reid, Wei Raymont and Carolyn Walker had one each.

Mark’s kitchen served up a lovely lunch of chicken, ribs and salads and the ladies thank everyone who donated their time and/or prizes to make this tournament a success.
