Brooke-Lynn Bell is playing soccer for the University of Vancouver Island this season. The former Riptide player is a graduate of the Comox Valley United Soccer Club.

Vancouver Island's Tier 2 soccer season kicked off the first weekend of September with games across Vancouver Island.  Players from Campbell River, Comox and Powell River joined together to make up the teams playing for the Upper Island Soccer Association local franchise the Riptide. The Riptide along with their sister franchise the Storm (based in Nanaimo), play in the Vancouver Premier League against Duncan and Victoria based teams.

Two former Riptide players also started their season this month

playing in the the Pacific Western Athletic Association.  PacWest  is the governing body for collegiate athletics in B.C.  Fullback Brooke-Lynn Bell, a graduate of Comox Valley United Soccer Club, is playing for University of Vancouver Island.  Centre-back Hannah Gray, a graduate of Powell River Soccer Association, will be playing in Vancouver for Langara College.

Their seasons started mid-August with training camps. Both are working hard to earn starting spots on their squads. They recently played each other in Nanaimo with Langara College pulling out a late 1-0 win. The Riptide congratulates the

girls on their success and wish them the best of luck with their

college careers.

Riptide play weekly Saturdays and Sundays in Campbell River and Comox Valley. More information on the games can be found at www.uisoccer.org.
