Six sailors going to BC Summer Games

Comox Bay Sailing Club's largest team to go to Games

The Comox Bay Sailing Club is sending six sailors to the 2014 BC Summer Games.

"It is the largest team the CBSC has sent to date to this event, and it would not have been possible without support from the club, the coaches and the parents," a spokesperson said.

Going to Nanaimo from July 16-20 are: Anja Leikermoser (Optimist), Nate Bell (Laser Radial), Nigel Fletcher (Laser Radial), Sam Gregson (Laser Radial), Max Brown and Rowan Fletcher (420 Class).

The BC Summer Games have been going on for several decades now, and are the first step on the progression to the Olympic Summer Games for many athletes.

The sailing events will take place in the Nanaimo harbour off the southern tip of Protection Island.

"Congratulations to the sailors and we wish you the best of performances," the spokesperson added.
