Undefeated ranks dwindle in Comox Valley Mixed Slo-Pitch

 

 

The Mariners fell from the unbeaten ranks last week, losing 11-9 to the Beachwood Cafe Ducks, but still hold first spot in Comox Valley Mixed Slo-Pitch League Tier 1 play.

In their other game, the Mariners took down the Heaters 12-2. The Ducks also knocked off Billy D's Benchwarmers 13-6 to move into a tie for second place.

Billy D's just got by Whistle Stop Madness 9-8. Banner Landscaping Brewers split their games, winning 20-12 over the Heaters and falling 8-7 to the Sunlife Slammers.

Romance Shop Master Batters nipped the Wrecks 9-8 while Courtenay Kia stopped the Wankees 13-5 as both teams sit atop Tier 2 with 5-1 records. The Wankees lost both ends of their doubleheader, falling 9-7 to Applesauced. One other game had Berard's Plumbing surprise Zoom Zooms 16-10.

In Tier 3, Fishers Island Adventures knocked off previously unbeaten Elks Zombies 14-6, creating a three-way tie for first place with Mission Possible Shockers. Mission Possible were 15-7 winners over The Wild.

Oyster River Rats got their first win of the season 17-9 against Komox Grind but they gave Chances their first win of the year as Chances outslugged the Rats 21-13. In a high scoring affair, First Insurance First Timers prevailed 21-20 over the Grind.

Only three games were played in Tier 4. The Coco Locos played Merit Home Furniture Cruisers to an 8-8 draw and fell 12-11 to Billy D's Dodgers. Blue Thunder kept the Pacers winless with a 15-5 win.

In Tier 5, A+ Fire Ballers ran their record to 7-0 as they doubled the Swingers 20-10. Simon Pinfield smacked a two-run homer in a losing effort as the EZ Ryders fell 8-7 to the Fire Ballers. The Swingers and Alano A's played to a 13-13 tie.

Major Malfunctions recorded their first win of the season as they hammered the T-Birds 13-1. The Malfunctions weren't as fortunate in their second game, losing 15-14 to the Slippery Kittens. Calm Batters won a pair of games last week, stopping EZ Ryders 10-4 and outscoring the T-Birds 21-12.
