Each season a new contender seems to find its way to the Comox Valley's Flag Football League championship game, only to stare across at the same quarterback who's made a habit of winning it every season.

On Tuesday, Flaggin' Ain't Easy will be the latest batch of newcomers to try their hand at besting Troy Donaldson and his Young And Old team in the Comox Valley Sports & Social Club's flag football finale. Captain Alex Mertl will need his green-clad team to be at its best on both offence and defence to have a shot at dethroning the champs.

Flaggin' Ain't Easy advanced to the final with a 39-32 victory over Boomshakalaka! on Tuesday at Mark Isfeld field. Young and Old compiled a 28-0 mercy score against Brain Damages in their semifinal to take their usual spot in the final.

The other match-up saw the Pickpockets win 34-7 over the Sack Attack in a battle of the two lowest seeds. The Pickpockets advance to play Boomshakalaka! for third place, while the Sack Attack will face off against Brain Damages for fifth spot.
