Butchart Gardens set to light up for the magic of the Christmas season

Butchart Gardens is about to brighten up for the holidays.

The magic of Christmas returns to the gardens with the official light up event on Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. when attendees can see thousands of twinkling lights, magical displays and festive greenery and enjoy free carousel rides that night.

The annual holiday celebration runs until Jan. 6 and also features traditional carollers, festive brass and a Twelve Days of Christmas display.

The gardens will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with viewing until 10 p.m., and they will be closed on Dec. 25.

Guests can bring their furry friends from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Dining Room restaurant will be open for holiday high tea from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and then for dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Blue Poppy restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Staff at Butchart Gardens are encouraging visitors to reserve a date and time at butchartgardens.com.
