On Thursday, the Federal Court of Appeals quashed the federal government’s approval to build Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion, halting construction of the 1,150-kilometre project.

The court says the National Energy Board’s review of the project was so flawed that the federal government could not rely on it as a basis for its decision to approve the expansion.
