A few long-time volunteers of the Earl Naswell Christmas Dinner have recently joined forces and have formed a registered B.C. society, the Earl Naswell Community Christmas Society.

Now into its fifth decade, the annual dinner held on Christmas Day has grown to a point where this positive step was needed to ensure Earl’s legacy will live on into the future.

The society will be holding its inaugural Annual General Meeting on Tuesday May 28 from 6-8 p.m. and would like to invite one and all to attend. The meeting will be held in the Soroptomist Lounge of the Upper Filberg Center, downtown Courtenay.

The society is currently made up of four directors, and there is room for a few keen others.

What interests or expertise could you share with this small group of dedicated volunteers? There are a few roles where the society could use your help, including social media co-ordinator, volunteer co-ordinator, fundraising co-ordinator and a few key kitchen volunteers.

Contact earlnaswellchristmas@shaw.ca if you might be willing to step up and join them.
