On July 1, the Comox Valley will celebrate Canada’s milestone birthday in style, and BC Transit is making it easier than ever for you to get to the festivities.

The Comox Valley Regional District and BC Transit are offering free transit service so you can avoid traffic and enjoy the parade and all the entertainment at Simms Park and Lewis Park throughout the day.

Route 34 C2C Express will offer two trips per hour, leaving from Comox Mall and ending at the bottom of the hill where Ryan Road meets the Old Island Highway. Unlike the usual express service, buses will pick up passengers at all bus stops along the route.

Free Canada Day transit will also apply to routes serving Courtenay, Cumberland, Buckley Bay and Oyster River.

On Monday, July 3, transit will run on a regular Monday schedule, including a return to limited stop service on route 34 C2C Express.
